Grass and Tree Trunk
  • My first estate sale!

I once wandered into an estate sale by accident and bought a couple of things (one of which I use all the time in my mini work — a tiny metal ruler). But, this is the first time I’ve planned and shown up early. The woman whose home this was had been a miniaturist and needleworker, and I’m glad I could give a home to some of the things she left behind.

Some excellent tools likely from Wright Guide Miniatures and a gavel.

Book blanks that I can apply covers over, a vintage magazine and a wrapped gift.

A dragonfly punch and a tiny awl. I now have three awls. I just love ’em. :D

Terra cotta pots. It’s hard to tell the size since I forgot to add my penny, but these are small, with three of them being especially well sized for seedlings.

Tiny mice, one of which is a Hagen-Renaker.

    Two tiny lidded boxes.

One is marked Made in Scotland and the other has initials that are likely Stokesay Ware.

A plastic basket that definitely fools the eye and a hat stand.

    A tiny wall shelf.

Two kits — one for a trunk and one for a coat tree.

    Fancy toothpicks already stained.  :]

I picked up other odds and ends like plain wood, fabric and a book. I also picked up some kits for a friend and a real life sized item that you’ll see later on since it is related to Milo Valley Farm.

  • Wee “c” Miniature Show – 2015

I headed to the Wee “c” Miniatures Show tonight, and it is still running tomorrow as well.  It’s a small show but worth it to see some of my favorite vendors who carry some of the items I buy regularly.  I also scouted out a few new things.

I bought a gorgeous Mackintosh chair from William Cambron Designs and always kicked myself for not buying two.  Problem remedied.  :D

Square wood frames from Greenhouse Miniatures (no website).  I’ve bought frames from her before — like the oval one in the Heritage bedroom.

More bushes from A Little More in Miniatures for Milo Valley Farm.

A Pocket Full of Wishes — a pump bottle and a delicate and tiny tea cup.

    It’s signed.

Unknown vendor — right by the front door.  They had some fun and economical items, including this fancy shopping bag.

And, I’m set for Christmas and Halloween.

A second unknown vendor — these came from a big bin of miscellaneous minis.  It often pays to dig!  This bathroom hardware set is metal.  The foam in the box disintegrated when I opened it, so they are old new stock.

    A lovely glass vase.

Two dog treat boxes to assemble and a chew bone.

A third unknown vendor — these were sold as a set and are likely meant as jewelry charms, but they work well.  Fancy dancy.

  • Bishop Autumn Show 2015

Tonight was the Bishop Autumn Show, and it’s still running tomorrow.  :]

The first stop I made was to Greg’s table All About Miniatures, featuring a vast display of JBM Miniatures.  I have a weakness for Windsor chairs, so this settee spoke (haaaaaaaaaa) to me.  I am considering painting it black and distressing it.  Hmm…

I’ve spoken with Michael of Atomic Miniature in the past, but this was the first time we had a chance to really chat. He makes groovy modern miniatures, and this vintage ashtray jumped into my bag.  :D

These lovely irises are from Patricia Hopkins Studio (the vase was bought at the spring Bishop Show from Vitreus Ignis).

These eyeglasses are from Lynn O’Shaughnessy (no website).  Marvelous.  :D

As always, Wright Guide Miniatures has something that’s just perfect.

The Little Dollhouse Company always has great things, too.  This little barrel has a removable lid.

A somewhat light shopping night (for me) and certainly all over the board as far as style goes.  :D

  • Bishop Show 2015, part 1

First day at the Bishop Show with my second house guest now in tow.

Vilia Miniature.  Empty jars and fast food carryout container.

Mostly Paper.  Tulip kit…I bought two, but there were a lot of flowers to choose from.

Wright Guide Miniatures.  I knew they would have a lot of great thing for Milo Valley Farm.

    And other random goodies….

Muffa Miniatures.  This is Wally and Boo. I first saw Wally, but then decided to go with Boo. Then Wally cried, so I had to adopt them both.  :D  Cuties!!!

Vitreus Ignis.  This vendor has the most delicate glass pieces. Simply gorgeous. The bottom is actually silver, so it’s reflecting the color of the table here.

64tnt Miniatures.  Fabulous acorn cap birdhouses.

The Little Dollhouse Company.  I love the slant-tip tweezers the best.

Bindels Ornaments.  They have the best selection of random jewelry findings and kits to make lights and whatever you can imagine.

Volker Arnold.  I love these tiny wood trees.  :D
