  • 3 Blind Mice – 2016

I made the rounds at the 3 Blind Mice Show this evening and found a good selection of minis and supplies.  First stop was Greg’s table All About Miniatures, featuring a vast display of JBM Miniatures and many supplies for landscaping, building and finishing.  He has a huge display of wallpapers and trims right now, so I grabbed some railings for my stash.

I met Alex from the Greenleaf Forum.  Her shop Botiny Miniatures has a lovely range of fine plants.  I picked up an olaxis plant and a venus fly trap.  Now I need 1:12 scale flies.  :D  The piggy bank was from the front hall table, but there was no name on the receipt.

Hartland Miniatures.  Always a ton of goodies here!  First, a stoneware platter and bowl.

Candy dish and bowl of nuts (well, they called it a birdfeeder…but it looks like a bowl of nuts to me).

Mini Decorators.  They have great fabrics and great selection of random minis.

Designs by Janet.  I keep building houses, so I keep needing new welcome mats.

  • My first estate sale!

I once wandered into an estate sale by accident and bought a couple of things (one of which I use all the time in my mini work — a tiny metal ruler). But, this is the first time I’ve planned and shown up early. The woman whose home this was had been a miniaturist and needleworker, and I’m glad I could give a home to some of the things she left behind.

Some excellent tools likely from Wright Guide Miniatures and a gavel.

Book blanks that I can apply covers over, a vintage magazine and a wrapped gift.

A dragonfly punch and a tiny awl. I now have three awls. I just love ’em. :D

Terra cotta pots. It’s hard to tell the size since I forgot to add my penny, but these are small, with three of them being especially well sized for seedlings.

Tiny mice, one of which is a Hagen-Renaker.

    Two tiny lidded boxes.

One is marked Made in Scotland and the other has initials that are likely Stokesay Ware.

A plastic basket that definitely fools the eye and a hat stand.

    A tiny wall shelf.

Two kits — one for a trunk and one for a coat tree.

    Fancy toothpicks already stained.  :]

I picked up other odds and ends like plain wood, fabric and a book. I also picked up some kits for a friend and a real life sized item that you’ll see later on since it is related to Milo Valley Farm.

  • Wee “c” Miniature Show – 2015

I headed to the Wee “c” Miniatures Show tonight, and it is still running tomorrow as well.  It’s a small show but worth it to see some of my favorite vendors who carry some of the items I buy regularly.  I also scouted out a few new things.

I bought a gorgeous Mackintosh chair from William Cambron Designs and always kicked myself for not buying two.  Problem remedied.  :D

Square wood frames from Greenhouse Miniatures (no website).  I’ve bought frames from her before — like the oval one in the Heritage bedroom.

More bushes from A Little More in Miniatures for Milo Valley Farm.

A Pocket Full of Wishes — a pump bottle and a delicate and tiny tea cup.

    It’s signed.

Unknown vendor — right by the front door.  They had some fun and economical items, including this fancy shopping bag.

And, I’m set for Christmas and Halloween.

A second unknown vendor — these came from a big bin of miscellaneous minis.  It often pays to dig!  This bathroom hardware set is metal.  The foam in the box disintegrated when I opened it, so they are old new stock.

    A lovely glass vase.

Two dog treat boxes to assemble and a chew bone.

A third unknown vendor — these were sold as a set and are likely meant as jewelry charms, but they work well.  Fancy dancy.

  • Bishop Autumn Show 2015

Tonight was the Bishop Autumn Show, and it’s still running tomorrow.  :]

The first stop I made was to Greg’s table All About Miniatures, featuring a vast display of JBM Miniatures.  I have a weakness for Windsor chairs, so this settee spoke (haaaaaaaaaa) to me.  I am considering painting it black and distressing it.  Hmm…

I’ve spoken with Michael of Atomic Miniature in the past, but this was the first time we had a chance to really chat. He makes groovy modern miniatures, and this vintage ashtray jumped into my bag.  :D

These lovely irises are from Patricia Hopkins Studio (the vase was bought at the spring Bishop Show from Vitreus Ignis).

These eyeglasses are from Lynn O’Shaughnessy (no website).  Marvelous.  :D

As always, Wright Guide Miniatures has something that’s just perfect.

The Little Dollhouse Company always has great things, too.  This little barrel has a removable lid.

A somewhat light shopping night (for me) and certainly all over the board as far as style goes.  :D

  • 3 Blind Mice and Bishop Shows 2015, day 2

Yesterday was the final day of shopping for us, but the Bishop Show is still on today.  :D

All About Miniatures.  Tomato plants by Bill Lankford…

    …and snowshoes.  :D

Sandy McHenry.  Marvelous random vintage minis.

Lamis Minis.  Fantastic dandelion in the seed stage.

Cottage of Miniatures.  Tons of minis to complete your scenes!

Graber Gallery.  A lovely assortment of baskets.

Miniature Wood Creations.  Fantastic two-story Martin birdhouse.

    Templewood Miniatures.  Leaf veining tool.

  • Bishop Show 2015, part 1

First day at the Bishop Show with my second house guest now in tow.

Vilia Miniature.  Empty jars and fast food carryout container.

Mostly Paper.  Tulip kit…I bought two, but there were a lot of flowers to choose from.

Wright Guide Miniatures.  I knew they would have a lot of great thing for Milo Valley Farm.

    And other random goodies….

Muffa Miniatures.  This is Wally and Boo. I first saw Wally, but then decided to go with Boo. Then Wally cried, so I had to adopt them both.  :D  Cuties!!!

Vitreus Ignis.  This vendor has the most delicate glass pieces. Simply gorgeous. The bottom is actually silver, so it’s reflecting the color of the table here.

64tnt Miniatures.  Fabulous acorn cap birdhouses.

The Little Dollhouse Company.  I love the slant-tip tweezers the best.

Bindels Ornaments.  They have the best selection of random jewelry findings and kits to make lights and whatever you can imagine.

Volker Arnold.  I love these tiny wood trees.  :D

  • 3 Blind Mice, day 1 – 2015

Attended the 3 Blind Mice show this evening.

T&D Miniatures and Dollhouses.  This was a wacky penguin, and I just had to have him.  The peat moss bag is weighted to stay in place.

A Little More in Miniatures.  This glass vase has such a fabulous mid century modern shape.

Patricia Wehmeier Miniatures.  Pat made both of these lovlies.

Jacqueline Kerr-Deiber.  There were few things I was specifically looking for on my shopping list…one was a frog.  :D  This is made by Amanda Skinner.

Custom Dollhouse. I have a weakness for white ceramics in real life and in mini.

Hartland Miniatures.  Lots of goodies here!

Also from Hartland — a lobster trap kit (I bought a croquet kit, too).

All About Miniatures.  Rocking Horse by Steve Panner.  Oops – forgot to straighten out the stirrup. This is a gorgeous piece.

  • Bishop Show – Fall 2014

The smaller Bishop Show is in town this weekend, so I popped in for the preview show last night.  Here are some of the goodies I brought home.

Wild rabbit from Weazilla.  Jessica had a wonderful selection of realistic animals, toys and curiosities.  I’m going to need a vegetable garden for this cute fella.

Creamsicle cocktails from Karen Aird Miniatures.  She had a huge table of miniatures in a wide variety of themes and categories.

I’d love to have this in real life!  And, it’s a good thing I bought this shutter table at the show because all the ones I already have are packed and I would have had nothing to use in these photos.  :D

Tin Man and Mr. Scarecrow from Sir Thomas Thumb.

I think Mr. Scarecrow needs a chiropractor.  :D  I’ll have to see if I can give him an adjustment so he stands tall.

Watermelon bowls from The Little Dollhouse Company.  I always enjoy seeing Maria and John, and they have such wonderful miniatures.

I have a set of small bowls like these in real life; only mine have the seeds painted inside.  :]

  • Bishop, day 1; 3 Blind Mice, day 2 – 2014

Went to the Bishop Show on Friday for the preview sale.

First, the item up is the one I couldn’t show you the other night.  Two fox doorknockers in brass from Ron Stetkewicz Miniatures.

Jane Graber pottery.  There’s one more piece I’ll be ordering from her directly since she didn’t have more there.

Twilla’s Tiny Treasures.  I bought two more birdhouse kits like the one I made for The Aero Squadron Lounge.

She also had the tiniest pine cones which she said she harvested after a wind storm before anyone could trample them.  :D

Lisa’s Little Things. These kits looked beautiful in the display, though it is hard to tell the amazing detail from the package photos.

    Griffin box.

Small and long treasure boxes.  There are two boxes in each kit.

    Tea chest.

Wendy’s Miniatures.  She had such an amazing collection of geodes, fossils, gemstones and other curiosities.

Vilia Miniature.  I have one of these sinks already, but I have an idea for another.

These stacking trays came in blue, red and green.

Vitreus Ignis.  Tiny glass paperweight.  She had a lot of wonderful designs.  It was so hard to choose.

Ray Storey lighting.  I always find great stuff here.  :D

Miniature Atelier 2CV.  Wonderful modern hardware.  They had intricate metalwork inserts for doors and windows as well as beautifully made furniture and lamps.

Ulus Miniaturas.  The smallest tape measure ever!!!

    L. Delaney.  These quilts are printed on paper towel.

The detail and texture are amazing.

She had a bed made up with one as well as some folded in a cabinet…very realistic.

I also picked up this tile with a bird.  She said these were images from Pompeii.

    Sir Thomas Thumb.  Carpenter’s square.

He also had loose Chrysnbon sinks, tubs and toilets.  The tubs didn’t have the feet, and the toilets didn’t have the tanks, but they would be great for bashing into custom pieces.  I picked up a bunch of the sinks since I love them and don’t want to buy the whole kit every time I want the sink.  I also picked up some fencing which you will see on the Brownstone.

Then back to 3 Blind Mice.

All About Miniatures.  Greg kept putting more things out for us to peruse.  :D  First is a window with arched shutters…awesome.

    A working gate.

    Old World Tile kits.

    I love these!

Hartland Miniatures.  Chrysnbon pitcher paired with two glasses.

    Chrysnbon candy dishes.

Brushed metal salt and pepper shakers.

  • 3 Blind Mice – April 2014

I went to the 3 Blind Mice show tonight, its opening night.  There were several rooms of vendors, and I was able to find a lot of great stuff.

The first stop was Greg’s table, All About Miniatures.  He has some great old new stock.  I picked up some Architect’s Choice brackets in three styles.

I picked up a Timberbrook sliding door at J&J Dollhouse Minis.

Two snowmen from Patricia M. Wehmeier Miniatures.

I also picked up a great candle mold from Patricia.  She always has great found items, but these were all her own.  :]

The beautiful table and chairs set was actually all sold individually, which I think is fabulous.  There were chairs in black, white and green, as well as long tables instead of square.  These are from Wildwood Dollhouse & Miniatures.

    The aging is superb.

I’ve been in love with this sink for awhile now, and a few have gone for big bucks on eBay lately.  I was able to find one for a very good price from Hartland Miniatures.

This fun book shelf is from Debbie Ohm.

This great macramé hanging planter is from Linda’s Creations.

  • Bishop and 3 Blind Mice shows – 2014

Returned to the 3 Blind Mice show on Saturday. I found this great pocket door from J & J Dollhouse Minis.

Jason Feltrope.  Always a great selection of pottery.

    Back to the Bishop Show.

true2scale.  A kit for a crate of adorable marigolds in butter box and milk carton planters.

A kit for heirloom roses china, and the blanks to complete the kit.

Stewart Dollhouse Creations.  A kit for a desk (without the chair shown).

    A sparkling geode.

Ursula Dyrbye-Skovsted.  She had the most amazing birdcages and marquetry flooring.  But, what caught my eye was this wonderful heavy brass gadget for a glue syringe.  It makes the glue stream so much easier to control.

On Sunday, we returned to the Bishop Show, and I bought a few more items including some pottery from Milestone Miniatures.

    And a lovely Easter bunny.

  • New minis in the mail

I’ve added a few new minis to my collection. The first is a wonderful honey pot with dipper by David Provan.

It’s so tiny, so well made. I’m feeling the need for some hot tea with honey.  :]

Next are three pillows from DollhouseLittles.

Katie Arthur makes the most stylish textiles in mini. :D

For the kitchen, I bought a set of hot cross buns by Amy. These are from a new miniaturist, though you’d never know it from the lifelike quality. She doesn’t have a miniatures website up yet. Yum! :D

I bought these over the summer, but I didn’t mention them at the time since I also bought something for April and didn’t want to bring attention to the shop. ;D These jam pots are from Something Tiny – one in orange and one in gooseberry pattern.

I also picked up a miniatures lot on eBay recently that included this super cute recipe box.

It has tiny hinges and opens, too!  :D

Another Christmas gift from mom — Stock Pile — a kit by Teresa Layman. It’s so cute!  :D

I have a few needlework projects ahead of it, but I’m glad to have it.

  • Wee “c” Miniatures Show 2018

Tonight, I headed to the annual Wee “c” Miniatures Show.  It’s a smaller show but there are always wonderful finds to be discovered.  The show is open again tomorrow if you are in the area.  :]  It was once again New Old Stock night.

Vendor Unknown – Lobby Area.  Yeah, that’s an American Craft Products Ol’ Mercantile, a cousin of The Brownstone!  :D  I so do not need another building kit, but $30 for a vintage rarity could not be skipped. (She had a Heritage, too.)

There were bins of goodies, if you were willing to dig.

I still have an actual VHS player.  :D

    Jancrafted.  More awesome vintage finds.

Cecelia’s Unique Finds.  These lamps are so incredible.

The are marked “RR” and have lights.

I will likely never know if they work since I don’t know the voltage or the receptacle they would need.

The tiny finials screw on to keep the shades in place.

Even if they never light up, they are beauties on their own.

She also had boxes of vintage minis. Teeny crayons!

I recognized the names Venus and Martin Dodge from old dollhouse books.

Look at that brillo pad!  :D

I bought a Ron Stetkewicz doorknocker,  but this seller didn’t include her card.

All in all, a fabulous night!

  • Milwaukee Dollhouse and Miniature Show – May 2018

I was up in Waukesha, Wisconsin for the Milwaukee Dollhouse and Miniature Show a couple of weeks ago.  It was a small show but definitely worth the visit. I recognized a few vendors from the local Chicago shows as well.

J and K Miniatures – got some bare metal items including wheels I need for the moveable ladder in Watson Mill.

William Cambron Designs – I didn’t buy anything from him at the Chicago shows this year because his table was always so crowded. It was crowded here, too, but I still had some good luck!

Cecelia – lovely estate items. None had maker’s marks and I’m not sure who made them, but they are wonderful items.

  • 3 Blind Mice show – April 2018

I headed to the 3 Blind Mice show for opening night.  I love this show — always a good mix of goodies in need of discovery.

All About Miniatures.  Old World Tile kits.

Hartland Miniatures.  Lots of goodies here! Realife Country Living Room kit.

Dark wood gate and a wood truck kit (wheeled dolly).
